EMPOWERING WOMEN

Salty at Heart Journal features female scientists, adventurers, artists, humanitarians, surfers, environmentalists, and those making a positive difference in the world. In a world where advertisements, films, and magazines constantly objectify women, Salty at Heart decided to reject that notion and create a space where the strength, grit, intelligence, and compassion of women could be displayed, and where their ideas could be known.

PROMOTING EQUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

The journal has an underlying message of compassion for our planet and the human experience. In a world that often seems divided, it's important now more than ever to come together to address issues of inequalities, climate change, and environmental degradation, Salty at Heart focuses on the solutions and ideas from a variety of different perspectives, spanning the political, social, creative, and scientific realms.

INSPIRING CHANGE

Our content focuses on shining a light on the pockets of hope: people on the world stage creating change as well as those making a difference in their local communities. There is this constant bombardment of "doom and gloom" in the news, which is vital to staying informed, but we have to be willing to give as much attention to the positive effects people are having on the world. In order to get people motivated, you have to give them hope.

CONNECTING THE DOTS

It's crucial to bring together various disciplines and recognize that everything in this world, and this Universe, is connected. The cosmic perspective is a viewpoint from which we can acknowledge that not only do we share this one beautiful planet, but we are all closely intertwined, all the way down to the atoms that make up our very being.

At the end of the day, outside of basic human needs, we all ultimately want the same things: love, belonging, community, and freedom.
